South Australia's Parliament has the worst female MP representation in Australia, with gender parity unlikely to be reached before 2050, a new report finds.
It's a hard question, can a political party be democratic if they have to have a certain percentage of Women... what about the best candidate ?
Also if your twice as likely to be voted in if it's a man running , as a party leader would you want to lower your chances of winning by putting up women candidates.....
Are you getting further away or a more equal form of democracy if you have to pick a candidate because of demographics instead of merit...
What if all the women are in city seats and none in the country, will that need to be addressed as well ?
