Your Nation is divided.. no doubt about it. Has been long before TRUMP arrived. He has taken advantage of the parlous state of your Nation, and made it much worse.

As for the Democrats..? They aren't in power yet.
You are definitely making assumptions of the worst.

The democrats are YOUR people TOO.!!
But yo hate them.
Yes, Democrats are my fellow Americans, and I don’t hate them. I’ve had the same neighbors for 36 years, and we are good friends. They are politically active committed progressive left wing liberals. They are the nicest people you would ever want to meet.

Average Americans are good people.

I couldn’t vote for Biden, Pink.

I thought Tulsi was the best Democrat to run since JFK.

@pinkeye I don’t want to be the mindless drone of a political party. I am not going to vote like a trained monkey.
good for you..for the FUTURE.

but you DID.... You voted for TRUMP. A protest vote, like so many others, that GOT HIM IN.

You were played. Admit it. The Don sucked you in, and spat you out, just like he has with all those people he encouraged to storm the Capitol.

sigh. Seth? sorry to be so mean BUT.. you were not thinking when you voted for him, you were reacting to what you saw as a failure by the Democrats.

YOU got sucked in, like so many others , who now no doubt, regret their vote for Trump.

I regret that he let us down so badly at the end of his term. But I couldn’t vote for a warmonger, and I agreed with Trump on national policy.

You agree with:

The worst budget deficits ever;
The death rate from Covid 5000 a day;
The national debt so high it is unpayable;
Bogus Middle East peace deals procured by promises of war machines and weapons;
The highest ever trade deficit which is still accelerating;
The country divided to the extent it is irredeemable.

Your wishes have been granted.

The budget starts in the House of Representatives which is controlled by Democrats.

Joe thought stopping travel from China was "hysterical xenophobia", while Nancy told everyone not to stay home, but to come to Chinatown and go shopping.

You're against peace in the middle east apparently.

The trade deficit with China is dropping. $358 billion in 2015, $164 billion in 2019.

The only people who don't want unity and healing are on the fringes.

Your 'fact' about the trade deficit is not true. US exports of goods to China was $164 billion in 2019 not the trade deficit which was $308 billion.

"U.S. goods and services trade with China totaled an estimated $634.8 billion in 2019. Exports were $163.0 billion; imports were $471.8 billion. The U.S. goods and services trade deficit with China was $308.8 billion in 2019."

Seth Bullock, please consider:

"China's trade relationship with the United States, meanwhile, became even more imbalanced: Beijing's trade surplus with Washington rose to $317 billion in 2020, a 7% increase from the year prior and the second highest amount on record, according to Iris Pang, chief economist for Greater China at ING. The amount is just $7 billion shy of 2018 levels, when Trump launched a blistering trade war to right what he called a lopsided relationship with the world's second largest economy."

China is winning the trade war and its exports have never been higher

By Laura He, CNN Business

Updated 1012 GMT (1812 HKT) January 14, 2021

Hong Kong (CNN Business)China was already outperforming every other major world economy last year as the coronavirus pandemic upended the globe. It looks like the country's relatively sure footing also gave it the edge in its trade war with the United States.

The world's second biggest economy closed out 2020 with an overall trade surplus of $78 billion for December, according to official customs data released Thursday. China's overall surplus for the year hit a record $535 billion, up 27% from 2019. Exports, meanwhile, rose to an all-time high.
"Amid all the noises on de-coupling and de-globalization, somewhat unexpectedly, the pandemic has deepened the ties between China and the rest of the world," wrote Larry Hu, chief China economist for Macquarie Capital, in a research report.

China is winning the global economic recovery
Louis Kuijs, head of Asia economics at Oxford Economics, attributed China's gains largely to the country's management of the pandemic, which broke out in the Chinese city of Wuhan just over a year ago. He added that China has benefited from a lot of demand for protective gear and electronics as people around the world worked from home.
"After having recovered from its own Covid-19 crisis, China was open for business when the pandemic triggered huge demand in the US (and other countries) for Covid-19 related goods," Kuijs said.
China's trade relationship with the United States, meanwhile, became even more imbalanced: Beijing's trade surplus with Washington rose to $317 billion in 2020, a 7% increase from the year prior and the second highest amount on record, according to Iris Pang, chief economist for Greater China at ING. The amount is just $7 billion shy of 2018 levels, when Trump launched a blistering trade war to right what he called a lopsided relationship with the world's second largest economy.
"Judged by the surge of US imports from China in 2020, it seems fair to say that Trump's trade war with the country failed," Kuijs said.
The good trade news comes days before China is expected to announce GDP figures for the end of 2020 — another likely positive showing. Analysts widely expect that China's economic growth will pick up even more during the last three months of the year. Analysts polled by Reuters expect Chinese GDP to increase 2.1% for all of 2020.

I rechecked my source and found that the figures I used were not what I thought they were. I misunderstood what I was reading, and so I thought you might be right. So I looked around again and found this:

https://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c5700.html

These charts show that the trade deficit with China went up during the first two years of Trump's term, and it was on its way down in the last two years. Since this chart only takes us to Nov, 2020, we will use your source to account for 2020.

2014 - $344 billion
2015 - $367 billion
2016 - $346 billion
2017 - $375 billion
2018 - $418 billion
2019 - $345 billion
2020 - $317 billion

The CNN report is using a Chinese source for information. Where it says "The amount is just $7 billion shy of 2018 levels", that appears to be wrong by a long shot. The difference between 2018 and 2020 is $101 billion.

The trade deficit in 2020 is the lowest its been since 2013.

Joe thought stopping travel from China was "hysterical xenophobia", while Nancy told everyone not to stay home, but to come to Chinatown and go shopping.
“need to have a president who they can trust what he says about it, that he is going to act rationally about it.” He added, “This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia – hysterical xenophobia – and fearmongering to lead the way instead of science.”

Funny that is exactly what trump did, when he didn't get the China Trade deal he did both of these things with C-19...blaming china over and over again, calling it the China Virus and the Hysteria part he is still doing it.......

What Biden said was correct and predicted exactly how Trump acted..
...“This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia"

The California Democrat’s visit to Chinatown came three weeks before six Bay Area counties implemented shelter-in-place restrictions. On the same day as Pelosi’s visit, Trump tweeted, “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

To sum up: Pelosi did visit Chinatown in late February in an effort to encourage people to go there to eat and shop. But she did not support parades or parties, try to show the coronavirus didn’t exist or delete a tweet of her visit, as Trump claimed.

So weeks before c-19 was a issue in SF, pelosi was in Chinatown because people were fearful going there because of it's name.....

I love how you believe the Trumped up version of both these stories Seth... It just shows how well his scheming and twisting works on the average American.....

I think what it says is an inconvenient truth - that they wouldn’t have done any better at preventing the spread of it. I think everyone with a brain knows it, but politics rule the narrative.

Of course they could of....just look at the dozens of countries that dealt with it better and follow what they did... it’s not hard
America have done everything that You shouldn’t do..
America is still in it’s first wave !!!

What I said was that they “wouldn’t” have done any better at containing it, not “couldn’t” have. But I’m not sure they could have either.

And I know you all are very smug, but the U.S. is not much bigger than Australia in square miles, but our population is 13 times what yours is. You cannot convince me that if your population was 13 times what it is, that you would be in the same enviable situation that you’re in.

UK and France are no better than we are. They are by far smaller geographically, but both of them have populations that are 2 and a half times Australia’s population. See the pattern?

Freedom & Liberty is what Americans thirst for & thrive on.

Americans would rather die than give up either.

What others do is of no interest to me/us/America.

Live Free or Die..................We Americans choose Freedom, & the Liberty to enjoy it - whatever the cost.......if death should come, at least we died free.............our lives are our own, no one else's.
