Eddie Van Halen, the virtuoso guitarist whose innovative and blistering solos helped propel the band named after him into one of rock’s biggest acts in the 1980s, has died of cancer. He was 65.
A sad day indeed, one of my childhood hero's and inspiration to play guitar, I remember practicing Eruption for hours....

I don't know if it's syndicated nationwide or just my local station, but MMM has a month of Aussie rock called 'Roctober' .. all the old greats that I grew up with. I've been having a ball doing my run listening to them all with the radio up as far as it'll go ... some customers give me weird looks though

I really enjoy the music by the Mona Lisa Twins. This is really a fun blend of "Mr Postman" and "Wipeout" from pre-Covid days at the Cavern Club in Liverpool.

That’s so cool!!
I went over to my brother's house about a year ago or so, and he said he had something he wanted to show me, and he played me a bunch of their YouTube videos. I've been a fan of theirs ever since. Here a couple good covers of Beatles songs. I hope you enjoy them.

What talent! I’m going to show my daughter ...
She coming home next week after 9 months border closures and lockdowns!
We did heaps of FaceTime talk as she walks me along the beaches or shops. Sometimes just pops me up in the phone on the kitchen ledge to talk as she does the dishes!
She was better off with life up in Queensland rather than in Victoria. We had curfews -not allowed out after 8 pm. We had travel restriction no more than 5 kms from home. Mandatory masks worn at all times, all shops and restaurants closed.
funny thing is, now I’m so used to ISO, I don’t want to go out...especially with all mad Xmas shoppers!
Music and Netflix have been the saviours.
And cooking ... cooking... cooking... and now I don’t want to go out to eat anymore either!
See what ISO did to my living habits of adaptability! Yeah and slept odd hours because I be up watching Netflix in the wee hours!

They are very talented. Lisa, with the red hair, is an accomplished guitarist. She can also play bass guitar, and I've seen her play a cello in one of their videos. Mona, the blond, plays guitar, drums, and even harmonica. They are from Austria, born into a musical family. They moved to Liverpool some years ago. They love the music of the 60s. They also write their own original music.

Yes, life is certainly different now. I rarely leave my house other than for work. No going out with friends, no travel anywhere. Use FaceTime a lot to visit with my son and grandchildren. I'm looking forward to vaccinating whenever it's available and then getting back to a more normal life. What a year ...

I do have an idea! In the Longest lockdown in the world... but.... it’s better than having hundreds ‘n thousands of infected people around me...catch 22 really.
did you see Harrods in the UK where they all just came out of lockdown and went to shop with congestion of people wall to wall!!
And one week after opening, they shut again to avoid the crowdedness from happening
Half are doing the masks and social distancing, the other half objecting.
No one can win this war on virus, unless they all stick to the same rules... fat chance that happening anytime soon in Europe or the USA :(
