Politics aside how is everyone doing ?

One thing that shits me BIGTIME she interferes in the laundry and if I am not awake enough she will hang clothes out to dry. What’s wrong with that? She is deaf in one ear so her balance is weak (polite word) and the path to the Hills Hoist was laid by my Dad and he in the pouring or the foundation under the path there is uneven and as keep telling Mum that will see her totter and fall one day and for one as old as her that will be finis for her and trouble for me.

have you got a porch or flat area nearer the back door to string a line across, just to accomodate her. I know as people age one big issue is that they want to be useful. Not allowing her to do anything might do more harm than good ................... mind you, at 100, you're doing something right.

I let her potter in the garden which she loves until I think she has done enough when I get her (help her walk back) with the promise of a cup of coffee. She doesn’t do much apart from that. Only the washing line and the less than even path are a worry. If she trips and falls in the garden that is just the luck of the draw. Falling on a lawn is better than falling on a concrete path. I don’t let her overtire herself.

It’s the falls that are the worry.
For any age.
John Elliot died today, he had a fall a couple weeks ago he didn’t recover from. I think he was age 79
Not sure how or why, I’m assuming a blood clot?
I don’t really know.
Still… your mum seems okay on her feet!
I like that she still keeps interest in stuff she likes to do. Bless her.

Bit less nowadays but as I said if she wants to potter in the garden I let her—I try to let her be the adult she is “adult with disabilities” I tell her.

My wife and I are flying to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday. We’re going to visit the marine aquarium there on Friday and then watch the NASCAR races at Talledega, Alabama, on Saturday and Sunday, and return home on Monday.

Should be fun, and this was my wife’s idea!

Several years ago we did the same thing, only it was in Las Vegas, Nevada. Being there in person is exciting and a LOT different than watching it on TV.
