Politics aside how is everyone doing ?

Thanks guys, it's all good. I'm not worried about it.

I just have a peculiar memory.. it is surprising, sometimes. As such I do tend to keep details of things that happened, so

For your edification.

.. I finally remembered a previous incident, which I may have posted about here a year or so ago.
It finally clicked... ( I have poor facial recognition, or is it just a disinterest in people..? )

I'd been following a big black twin cab into the same parking area looking for one on the left.. shaded by the building for my dog. The black thing passed one by a couple of spaces, and pulled in to one on the right, so naturally I took the left one.

But it seems ( she was driving ), it was her intention to back out of that space into the space I was in. I did see her reverse lights come on as I was pulling in, but didn't think anything of it.. after all that happens when you're putting your auto into park. I got out to see this same woman as the recent one, has backed out , then gotten out of the vehicle, leaving it in the middle, telling me I had taken her car space.. what was I doing.? I recall telling her I wasn't a mind reader, she'd parked over there, and her mouthing off about what a smart bitch I thought I was blah blah... she had her kids in the car , having just picked them up, no doubt, from the local State School.. it's always busy around that time of day. :roll

So anyway, I finally connected the two last night .. but I expect she recognised ME at the time, because I'm more recognisable than your average old lady.:). and I drive a recognisable vehicle, with accompanying dog.:bgrin

Where as she was in one of those ubiquitous bloody big SUV's that all look the same. Usually full of fat women and a sludge of children. They're everywhere.... I really should avoid that time of day for shopping, it's just it is an otherwise convenient time for me.

So the ... Oh you are kidding me .... response I got yesterday becomes more understandable,, hee hee all entirely unintentional on my part, I sure seem to annoy this woman, AND

I suspect she's a diabetic heading for a heart attack, even at her young age, she is so angry and aggressive, i feel sorry for her actually.

But I WILL keep my eyes open for the black thing in future.

So fellas, don't evr think of me as fearful..... if anything I am careful BUT I am also quite aggressive myself.

I won't take shit from anybody.

Nervous! The COVID19 news is too good to believe! I am going to Tassie next month for FOUR WEEKS!

I half expect something to happen so the trip can’t go ahead!

Still discomfort from right hip but that does not stop me going ahead with my walks.

Crikey. If I'm keen I walk my dog around the block.. 1 klm exactly up and down.
I could do more but the dog looks glad to get home when we get close to home. I don't necessarily walk her everyday.. depends on how I feel... I've got some structural issues too, including a dodgy hip. Still all my own parts so far.
Dog is hanging in there, and just loves a walk, but NOT a long one.
Her size and age, and sometimes the weather clearly has an impact, but she does love to go and leave her messages and sniff sniff sniff... :)

Hope your trip is going ahead ...

I remember, do you? I had a topic way back about when I finally got some dental treatment..

Dentures.?

I might try and find that thread, and continue.. as I did say I would.

I just read this and about the earlier encounter.
Seriously, you don't have a problem with facial recognition. Who would recall an unknown person from 12 months before?

To be honest, she sounds very extreme. So what if you took the parking spot she had had in mind, especially as there were obviously others spare. Be very careful, aggressive people like this could be dangerous or nasty. I wouldn't put it past a person like that to scratch your car or whatever if she comes across it. Hopefully you won't see her for at least another 12 months or ever.

There are some real out-there types around.
A week or so ago a man was found murdered on street down, outside someone's driveway. Police are asking for assistance but otherwise saying nothing. This follows an incident a couple of months ago, also not far from here, where one person was murdered, and another seriously assaulted. Nothing on that yet, either.

The thing is , this is acreage , of varying sizes, ( before the developers got their greedy mitts on the higher land) .. lots of Meth here. I'm told there is a mob up the road a few blocks, it's crazy.

I suspect any aggression now, of being from ice addicts... they take every shape age and form....

It's rife throughout Australia.. in the big cities, and the small country towns.

My Toshiba 55 inch LED TV with WiFi, USBs x 2, and HDMI x 3, vintage 2015 died 2 days ago with WiFi dead and USB dead. I reset it to factory settings and it went blue screen dead. It was replaced in 2016, less than 12 months after I purchased it because it could not be shut down without unplugging the power. Then a few years later it had an internal power failure to its various elements and had to be fixed at the service centre.

The inability to not be able to shut it off returned several times and then disappeared again about 8 months ago.

I should not have reset it after finding it was defective because without WiFi and USBs working there is no way to restore the software.

Anyway, I will get it fixed 'if economical'. I now purchased a HiSense 58 inch smart TV which will probably be delivered in a few days.

Took the opportunity to cancel my cable TV service which I have had at this location for 15 years. Before that I had cable TV at two other locations since 1998. Going for IPTV now.

It is quite amazing. After 2 days I have become used to not having cable TV.

The first time I bought a flatscreen in 1997 was a Fujitsu 20 inch plasma model for an industrial CCTV project with outdoor CCTV monitors sourced from a company in Norway. The company in Norway had to install the TV in a special pressurized enclosure to protect it from the environment. We had to buy the TV in Australia and ship it to Norway because the CCTV company could not purchase that make and model in Europe. Japanese companies used Australia as a test market and there were products in Australia that could not be bought in other Western countries. For that application plasma was outstanding because it replaced a CRT computer monitor of the old style which were barely viewable outdoors in the shade whereas the light output from plasma made it easily viewable outdoors.

First personal flat TV purchase was a 42 inch LG plasma in 2003 at $ 5000+. Gave that one away in 2016 after it sat around being unused because we purchased a 42 inch LCD in 2010, then the 55 inch LED in 2015 and now a 58 inch LED smart TV.

I have a 24-inch Conia TV with DVD player I bought on-line, so long ago I can't remember.... for less than $250 AUD delivered. Still works, and having a wee house a huge TV would be totally dominating, and unwelcome. I keep expecting it to cark it, but it keeps on turning on. Not a smart TV, rather a particularly dull TV that doesn't do much.
I'd never pay good money for TV entertainment.. but I try to appreciate the free-to-air offerings.

As I am getting older I am open to a wider range of ideas... hmm I think I am anyway, and FTA TV is a good source of information. Bit like reading newspapers.. I don't do it everyday, but there is some surprising info in those , now greatly diminished, pages.

If you subscribe to a news service provider you are a sucker. You get tailor-made News, just for you.

But anyway, enough of that.

I am finally getting a bit of rain. Not much yet. Up the road.. pouring down. I live in one of those peculiar areas which seems to be especially protected, from storms and rain. Sigh . A mixed blessing but I guess better than the other , ..copping storms and heavy rains frequently.

BUT
I have had a literally rotten NYE and NY. I was driving, at night and my air-con wasn't good.. last Tues.. the fan was sticking and making a loud noise. I turned it off.
Dropped off a friend - went home.. the dog had a sniff under the pass. side front wheel-arch, and then came inside.
So didn't go near the car on Wed, but on NYE thought I'd go to the local shops for a few things. There was a bad smell and as it was rubbish night I took out the Bins.

Got back to the car and noticed the smell was still there, and there were bloody big , and small flies hanging around the front windscreen grill. I opened the car.. OH MY ... the smell was huge... there were flies inside the car as well. OOH the smell. I opened all the doors and the bonnet. sprayed Bosisto on the seats and surfaces and retreated.
EEK.

I did drive down to the shops later... and oh my goodness it stank. The air-con worked but the fan didn't until I turned it to HIGH. Then it started, and the noise and the smell//////// I turned it off immediately.

Opened all windows. Did as quick a shop as poss.. got back . I shut ALL the vents on the way home. EEuw.

I've had it parked way away from the house, with the bonnet up and the doors open, but I still think I can smell it.

It is a RAT. A squished RAT. I don't normally go out after dark so it must have been snugged down in there somewhere. There are ample paw prints and poo to show it has had residence for some time. I can't see it.. seems to be inside the fire-wall in amongst the air-con/fan.
I took off the battery cover, and saw nothing.
IN FACT, IT , I am pretty sure, spent it's time between my roof.. and my car. I have noticed that since the smell .. I haven't had the rat running around in my eaves. !! ( if you remember ..last time I tried to chase it away , I fell off a ladder on my head.! One came back despite the poisoning.)

BUT CRIKEY I think that smell will take a long time dissipating. The RAT will have to be eaten by maggots and the decay dessicate before the smell goes away, if it does.

Any suggestions..?

.
