Should we fine politicians for not keeping their promises or pledges?

Sometimes they can’t keep them, but I wouldn’t mind fining them any time they lie.

if they make a genuine effort to keep them and it gets voted down because they don't have a majority .. fine, but when they promise something and don't even try ... the fines should be HUGE

Each political party would need to release a manifesto and make commitments. If they don't make those commitments, each party member must pay a fine, which then increases for each promise they break.
