EVs won't stop ecological degradation ... The delusion of infinite growth is incompatible with the health of the ecology

I despise those who wail when there is no need to wail. RE is cheaper than fossil fuels and that fact will see FFs retired as energy sources. We have like four decades before 2°C warming!

What have YOU done, whiner and wailer? Planted 100 trees like I will by the time I am done? Did more to insulate your home? Install solar and wind?

If you think AGW is set to roar regardless—have you campaigned for more nuclear energy?

Attenborough says its too late. All that can be done is to mitigate the effects.

"There is no going back - no matter what we do now, it's too late to avoid climate change and the poorest, the most vulnerable, those with the least security, are now certain to suffer."

Attenborough's stark warning on climate change: 'It's already too late' The veteran broadcaster tells the UN Security Council the climate crisis is the "biggest threat to security" humans have faced. Speaking on the invitation of Prime Minister Boris Johnson to the United Nations' Security Council (UNSC) session on climate, Sir David said simply: "Please make no mistake - climate change is the biggest threat to security that modern humans have ever faced."

Recommended by In his impassioned address, the veteran broadcaster said he did not "envy" the responsibility the situation placed on "all you and your governments" but warned: "We have left the stable and secure climatic period that gave birth to our civilisations. "There is no going back - no matter what we do now, it's too late to avoid climate change and the poorest, the most vulnerable, those with the least security, are now certain to suffer." Mr Johnson gave Sir David the platform since the UK is currently chairing the UN Security Council. Advertisement And as he opened virtually the first UN leader-level summit on climate change, Mr Johnson described the threat it posed to global security as of "paramount importance" and said a warming planet was driving insecurity "from the communities uprooted by extreme weather and hunger, to warlords capitalising on the scramble for resources".

If emissions are brought down enough, the planet may avoid its tipping point. File pic He called for action to help vulnerable countries adapt to climate change and cut global emissions to "net zero" - which requires huge reductions in greenhouse gases and any remaining pollution to be offset through measures such as planting trees - to protect prosperity and security.

I do not like “Waa the sky is falling!” crap. Yes, can feel like that but can rise above it.

So—WTF have YOU done to reduce AGW, eh?

NEW DELHI: India is pushing for more cars to run on ethanol made from sugar, a move that risks raising the cost of the sweetener globally. The government will fast-track an ethanol program that will divert as much as 6 million tons of sugar towards fuel production annually by 2025, according to the food ministry.

The Era of Cheap Natural Gas Ends as Prices Surge by 1,000%
(Bloomberg) -- The era of cheap natural gas is over, giving way to an age of far more costly energy that will create ripple effects across the global economy.

Wonder woman
I'm with Sir David,.
WE ..that is , you and I, Monk, won't live long enough to see the realization of Sir David's truth.

I mourn for this world and what horrors we have visited upon it.

So consequently ?

natural systems, in place for untold eras are dissolving in to sludge.

I will be buried in my orchard.

Nuclear needs to be embraced: small, modular reactors the way, supplement RE. Eventually‚ fusion. Then EVs can save the planet. Raise all to first world living standards, that will see fertility rates and world population drop. We can reverse what we have done since the IR started.
