seems we want to ignore it.
Even see TV channels talking up some prog to what to do after !! I think that's Channel 7 .. like it's all over.. it's a done deal.

Totally ignoring increasing community transmission, and the increasing infected and dead across the world.

There were lots of adamant opinion a month or two ago.

Where are we now.?

I KNOW you all want to pretend it isn't happening, BUT IT IS.!

So.. current views from posters...???

In our crazy capitalist world, money is (way) more important than human lives, unfortunately.

Everybody seems to be ignoring social distancing and hand washing.

Shops everywhere are providing hand sanitiser at their front doors, but I seem to be the only one who uses it.

There'll be another spike very soon.

Did you see on the news that USA have hogged all the vaccines or treatment the name starts with R... anyways it’s supposed to help minimise effects of covid-19

geez, over 50,000 infections in a day happened, trust USA to do everything bigger than Ben Hur! Bigger than Texas even!

i think in the short term we're going to have to live with it. At least up until they sort out a vaccine ... if they ever sort one out. It's not going away and they're not going to shut down the economy indefinitely

No vaccine for previous corona viruses … wouldn't count on one for Covid-19.

Jeez we are pig-headed... 10000 people in cluster suburbs of Melb refuse to be tested.

So, if this is as deadly and contagious as it appears to be... they'll likely take themselves out of the game. But interestingly, I heard in ABCTV News, that genome tests now being performed on test samples shows almost ALL of the active current and new cases in various parts of Melb.. have a very similar profile, such that they say a so-called 'super-spreader'.. of the virus, is likely responsible for many many cases.

Makes me wonder where we may end up. Looking at the US alone the deaths are going to mount significantly... they will not be able to manage it. The possible outcomes for a rot-riddled society like the US are dire indeed.

300,000 the projected death toll in the US and I see right wingers crap on about “it only hits old people” etc. Sure, more over 65 get it or die from it than under 65s but even CHILDREN have died from the virus. Why did that country have to have somone as stupid as Trump as POTUS now? And some STILL say he will MAGA with not a sign so far that he will!

Grandparents play useful roles, supporting their kids/grandkids, childminders etc.

I was in the servo today and noticed the sneeze guard they've had up at the registers for the past few months has been removed.

Not to mention we love them dearly. Buggered if i know why that isn't enough. I'm astonished at how cavalier some people are towards our older people. It breaks my heart.

The morons on Ozpol are forever going on abouit cultural superiority. Well we're sure as hell not when it comes to dealing with our elders. Family in general, really.

I'm often gobsmacked by the attitude of some on ozpol towards the elderly. Horseboy is the worst offender. I feel sorry for his kids if thats how he raised them. He'll only have himself to blame when his grand kids don't give a shit about him. I suspect he'll end up a bitter old man complaining how no one ever comes to see him except when they need money.

I know, I was just trying to attach a value to the elder in the community.

Global cases of the coronavirus are approaching 11 million, which is more than double the annual number of severe flu illnesses, according to the World Health Organisation.

As Victoria grapples with its own outbreak, a number of countries are facing resurgences of the virus, forcing authorities to reinstate lockdowns in what could be the new pattern of life.

The United States has again shot to a new daily global record, with more than 55,400 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday (local time), leading the global tally.

Brazil, India also have major outbreaks.

More than the flu—so not trivial.

I wonder where our friend shell has gone. You'd think he'd have something to say.?

It is ( Covid-19) a huge threat to our entire civilisation, if it continues to run rampant through high population areas.
Seems to me it is mutating as it goes, with younger people more and more becoming infected.
See ,? the problem ?
They may be fine ..? possible. but those they infect.. ? it is uncontrollable.

This is NOT GOING AWAY anytime soon.
